Load Planner

Duties

• Plan customer routed freight to maximize the capacity of each truck and driver.

• Broker inbound freight using DAT and other tools.

• Negotiate rates with brokers to best meet company rate needs.

• Plan trucks in accordance with company Deadhead guidelines.

• Understand the transportation market and rates.

• Quote spot market loads available from customers.

• Ensure real-time and accurate data entry of all orders in the operating system.

• Have knowledge of temp control freight, commodities, and rates.

• Ensure consistent communication and flow of information concerning delivery-related issues.

• Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of a fast-paced team.

• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with upset customers and team members.

• Ensure fair and consistent application of and adherence to company policies.

• Have an intermediate level of understanding of United States geography for efficient load scheduling.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• 1+ year of load planning experience

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Understanding of logistics, transportation and freight brokering

• Excellent attention to detail

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00
