    BAE Systems is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to support a technical program that delivers Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) solution in the cloud, with network, security, and O&M services across multiple classification levels in the environment. The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for proactively developing and maintaining all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service as well as providing Tier 2/Tier 3 support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the developed IT systems.

    Responsibilities include

    • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs

    • Fault finding, analysis and logging of information for reporting of performance exceptions

    • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning

    • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware

    • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks

    • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment

    • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

    • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments

    • Provides Tier 2/Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

    • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to internal and external customers.

    • Provides support for the developed system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor s degree.

    • Ten (10) years experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

    • IAT Level II Certification Required

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
