Division/Program Summary Description:
The Employee Leaves and Benefits Unit provides guidance and resources regarding benefits and all leave and absence types, such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Family Leave (PFL), sick leave, parental leave, personal leave, childcare leave, military leave, Special Leave of Absence Coverage (SLOAC), AWOL, and Workers' Compensation. We certify verification of employment, eligibility for the extended Military Benefits Package, and accuracy in transferring leave balances. We also certify TPF (Traveling Personnel Folder) for incoming/outgoing City agency employees, as well as manage the excess annual leave process. We complete FOIL requests and process/respond to subpoenas with the Office of General Counsel.
Position Summary:
The Leave of Absence Coordinator will handle all aspects of leaves within the agency including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), Paid Family Leave (PFL), Leave of Absence etc.
