    MHealth Fairview Northeast Clinics is looking for a Full Time (1.0 FTE) Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to support M Health Fairview Clinic - North Branch (~~~) , M Health Fairview Clinic - Wyoming (~~~) , M Health Fairview Clinic - Chisago City (~~~) , and M Health Fairview Clinic - Blaine (~~~) , M Health Fairview Clinic - Hugo (~~~) , M Health Fairview Clinic - Stillwater (~~~) , and M Health Fairview Clinic - Vadnais Heights (~~~) . This position will work closely with other Clinic Laboratory Leads, and assigned projects will also support the Northwest MHealth Fairview Clinics. Hours will vary with starting times beginning at 6:30am and shifts ending at 8:30pm. No scheduled weekends. Schedule may change to meet the needs of the department.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    The Lead Med Lab Scientist/Med Technologist (Lead MLS/MT) functions independently in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. A Lead MLS/MT performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and acts as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. May be responsible for method development research, instrument correlation, and method validation at multiple clinic labs, as needed. Correlates data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. Participates in laboratory performance improvement activities and works with the clinic site leadership to improve clinic workflows. Collaborates with the customers of the laboratory to promote appropriate use of laboratory resources. In the absence of a supervisor/manager, a Lead MLS/MT may direct workflow in the daily operation of a laboratory section and provide direction and problem-solving skills for laboratory functions.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in a lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Qualified to work in a highly complex laboratory as mandated in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA).

    • 2 years' experience as a Medical Lab Scientist, Medical Technologist (MLS/MT or Five years as Medical Lab Technologist (MLT).

    • Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) approved laboratory certification such as ASCP, AMT, or HEW.

    • BLS certification or within 90 days.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Three years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in an ambulatory or acute hospital environment.
