    We are looking for a Lead Marine Rigger in the Portsmouth RI Location. In this role you will take the lead on Yard projects involving sailboat rigging; anchoring; davits; cable steering systems; and removing / reinstalling hardware for mast and deck paint jobs

    Essential Duties

    •Fabricate, install and repair ship's rigging, such as stepping and unstopping masts, antenna rigs, boat handling gear, and winch and windlass rigging.

    •Installs masts, booms, hooks, swivels, shackles, electronics and all forms of lines.

    •Splices wire and nylon rope to fabricate items, such as halyards, outhaul assemblies, reef lines, lazy jacks and lifelines.

    •Understand crane operation and work aloft; follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks to exacting degree, following hand or verbal signals when working aloft.

    •Bend sails

    •Survey and inspect rigging and make recommendations for replacement or corrective repairs.

    Requirements:

    • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
    • Ability and willingness to go aloft is highly desirable.
    • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
    • Familiarity with boats and nomenclature.
    • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
    • High School or GED required
    • 5 plus years' boat rigging experience.
