    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Medicare Member Experience Data Science Insights Team. In this role, you will support the development of advanced machine learning models, including hierarchical multi-label classification models, using numerous unstructured data such as survey responses, complaints, and call transcripts. Your contributions will help create a cutting-edge application to trend member feedback on key topics, enabling business stakeholders to leverage topic-based data to identify key member insights that drive meaningful action.

    This role is ideal for a visionary who can make sense of complex data, has deep coding expertise, and can collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, domain experts, application developers and business stakeholders, to understand requirements, define objectives, and deliver actionable insights. Additionally, you will mentor junior data scientists, ensuring their collaborative efforts coalesce into successful, high-impact products. As the team grows, this role offers the potential to take on direct-report leadership responsibilities.

    Required Qualifications:

    6+ years of experience in:

    • Developing and deploying machine learning models in both on-premises and cloud environments.

    • Using Python with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.

    • Applying NLP techniques to unstructured data, including surveys, complaints, and transcripts.

    • Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure), with experience using cloud-native tools for data processing and model deployment.

    • Experience with NLP techniques, such as sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and transfer learning, especially using transformer-based models.

    • Using SQL to aggregate, filter, and group data for analysis.

    • Version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code and collaborate effectively with teams.

    • Familiarity with the software development life cycle including developing, testing, and deploying changes to end-users.

    • Demonstrated experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or Lean.

    • Experience with project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps, and a track record of delivering projects on time.

    • Familiarity with Python IDEs and a basic understanding of programming tools such as formatters, linters, and test suites.

    • Communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its tools (BigQuery, VertexAI, DataProc, Kubernetes) is highly preferred.

    • Experience with Python-based visualization tools, particularly Plotly Dash, for trending and visualizing feedback.

    • Experience managing machine learning models through MLOps practices, including monitoring, retraining, and model bias evaluation.

    • Ability to mentor junior data scientists and drive cross-functional data science projects.

    • Familiarity with customer experience data, particularly within healthcare or Medicare programs.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field (required).

    • Master's degree in a related field (preferred).

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is

    $130,295.00 - $260,590.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
