Job Description

Our client is a leading construction company specializing in earthwork, concrete, carpentry, and finishes. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality projects and pride themselves on their skilled workforce. We are looking to hire a Lead Carpenter for a project at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. This role involves overseeing carpentry projects, ensuring high standards are met, and mentoring a team of carpenters.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and laborers.

• Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and drawings.

• Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, plastic, and fiberglass.

• Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.

• Ensure projects adhere to building codes and safety regulations.

• Inspect and evaluate the quality of work performed.

• Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects and engineers.

• Maintain project schedules and communicate progress to project managers.

• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during construction.

Essential Skills

• Experience leading a small crew on job sites. Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong working knowledge of construction materials, tools, and methods.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• High attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$30 - $40/hr (depending on experience)
