Job Title: Construction Laborer

$25-$32/hr

Job Description

For over 25 years, our client has been transforming outdoor spaces for municipalities, landscape architects, schools, daycares, community groups, and others. They specialize in creating playgrounds, waterparks, and site furnishing layouts and are the largest distributor of outdoor recreational equipment in BC. They are currently seeking to add three skilled construction laborers to their team. The company operates three crews within the Lower Mainland, each consisting of 3-6 members. Offices are located in Burnaby, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, and Victoria. Outside the Lower Mainland, sub-contractors are used.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the construction and installation of outdoor recreational equipment.

• Work with retaining walls, civil construction, landscaping, and hardscaping.

• Utilize hand and power tools for various construction tasks.

• Travel to various sites across the Lower Mainland for project completion.

• Ensure a clean and professional appearance on-site.

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Experienced with hand and power tools.

• Experience in landscape and hardscape construction.

• Ability to construct fences and other structures from scratch to finish.

• Valid driver's license and vehicle.

• Able to pass a criminal record check.

• Non-smoker or willing to smoke/vape offsite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience leading a small crew.

• HEO experience (e.g., operating skid steer, bobcat, small excavators).

• Airbrake endorsement is a plus.

Work Environment

The company provides a hard hat, safety vest, and tools; candidates need to bring their own steel-toe boots. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with a consistent 40 hours per week and occasional overtime. Projects are located throughout the Lower Mainland, from Chilliwack to North Vancouver, and typically last around four days. Special projects, such as those with Canadian Tire JumpStart, may last longer. Each lead hand is required to have a CPSI certificate to install playground equipment.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00
