    Job Title: Lampist (SW5)

    Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lampist in Washington, DC . The Lampist will perform the repair, replacement and maintenance of lamps and Ballasts in ceilings and walls. In addition, assist other classifications in the performance of trade work. This position reports directly to the Deputy Project Manager. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Responsible for performing efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of lighting systems.

    • Building systems include lighting, lamps, ballasts and minor electrical.

    • PM of lighting, exit signs and emergency lights, etc.. and support engineers, maintenance mechanics, as needed.

    • Receives work assignments from CE or DCE and plans work to be performed, and obtains necessary tools, equipment, materials and other duties as required.

    • Completes paperwork in a timely manner.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and employs service procedures and techniques.

    • Possesses knowledge of safe and efficient operation of all equipment, power and hand tools.

    • Responsible for the care of assigned equipment, tools. Responsible for keeping shop, equipment rooms, related mechanical areas and common areas clean, organized and safe.

    • Inspects all areas of the building(s) and reports deficiencies as well as suggestions for improvement.Project a positive appearance and attitude always. Demonstrate exemplary tenant relations, team spirit and respect for others.

    • Serve on various shifts and occasionally work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays to ensure adequate building coverage and perform necessary repairs. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma and 2 years of building maintenance experience.

    • Employee is responsible for complying with all life safety and OSHA requirements.

    • Must be able to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12)

    Physical Demands:

    The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade.
