Summary

Entry-level employee in the maintenance department assists maintenance with clean up and maintenance of the mill shop, mine shop, lube car, and all locations within the mine and mill as assigned. Operate snow removal equipment and other equipment as required. This position is required to continue to learn skills and prepare for advancement to higher job classification.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for understanding and following all company and Smoky Canyon policies and procedures. Perform all tasks safely and in compliance with all company, federal, state, and local rules and regulations while minimizing the risks to human health and environment.

• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and repairs on the pipeline transportation and auxiliary equipment.

• Complete assigned safety rounds and make necessary repairs and/or clean up.

Typical Education

• High School Diploma/GED

Relevant Experience

• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual. Must also have good verbal and written communication skills.

• Basic computer skills are needed and basic knowledge of JD Edwards and Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, E-mail, etc) is a plus.

• Must be able to look up parts on the computer.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Must be willing to work as a team and must be courteous to your customer, the operators.

• Use hands to hold and lift objects. Lift up to 100 pounds.

• Work will be done either inside or outside of the shop. High noise level and crowded spaces. Experience all weather extremes as well as dusty, dirty, and greasy conditions. The employee will frequently work near moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level is moderate.
