Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight, support, and conduction of Wilky laboratory research objectives based on guidance and strategy from the Principal Investigator.
Management of laboratory operations, including purchasing, inventory, clinical/murine sample tracking, safety/EHS, IACUC/HIPAA and other personnel regulations.
Execution of research projects, including experimental design, troubleshooting, and analysis with guidance/mentorship from the PI.
Training, supervision, and support of other more junior laboratory personnel including Junior Research Services Professionals and rotating students/fellows.
Interfacing with other staff members, including but not limited to the Davila lab personnel, clinical research staff, core facilities staff and vivarium/veterinary staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
Two (2) years professional level research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory.
Experience with immunology and/or cancer research, including specific skill sets including but not limited to flow cytometry, RNA/DNA sequencing analysis, and ELISAs.
Experience with mouse work, including tumor implantations, peripheral blood sampling, therapeutic injections, organ harvest, breeding/genotyping.
Experience with leadership/teaching in a laboratory setting.
Experience with lab operations including maintaining sample trackers, orders/invoicing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Laboratory Services Senior Professional - 35637 University Staff
This role focuses on bench-to-bedside translational clinical research for cancer patients currently being treated on ongoing clinical trials using cutting edge therapies. This role will be central to understanding why treatment works or doesn't work for treated patients, by analyzing patient samples including tumors and blood samples, and then modeling the treatments in mouse models with sarcomas. The data generated from these experiments will then be used to inform the next generation clinical trial.
