    Position Purpose:

    Greets patients, orders lab work, and collects and processes specimens for analysis by the clinical laboratory staff. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

    What you will Do:

    Performs clerical job duties associated with the outpatient drawing area.

    Performs collection job duties associated with the outpatient drawing area.

    Performs collection job duties associated with the Core Lab.

    Performs processing job duties associated with the Core Lab.

    Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

    Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit which may include:

    Birth - 28 days Neonate

    1 - 18 Months Infant

    18 Months - 3 Years Toddler

    3 - 6 Years Preschool-aged

    6 - 12 Years School-aged

    12 - 18 Years Adolescents

    18 - 65 Years Adults

    65+ Years Geriatric

    Hours/Schedule:

    1 to 9:30/2 to 10:30

    Weekend rotation

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties. Intermediate language, basic math, intermediate reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work as a team player. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate politely and courteously.
