Overview:
Join our YMCA Team! Under the direct supervision of the Sports and Youth Enrichment Director, the Kids Club Associate is responsible for quality childcare and babysitting. The Associate has a complete knowledge of the YMCA mission, character counts, and programs which include policies, rates, programs and the facility. The Kids Club Associate implements the program activities and guides the development of the children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy environment. The Kids Club Associate must interact with adults and the children in a harmonious manner.
Responsibilities:
Must always be on time and ready for your scheduled shift, which includes but is not limited to adhering to the established branch and department dress code.
Demonstrate YMCA core character values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring in all interactions with employees, members, staff and others; commit to ongoing professional development.
Provide exceptional care for children during the day-to-day operation of the Kids Club room. Interact with children during activities.
Help to implement the activities scheduled in an appropriate manner, meeting the needs of the children physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
Provide careful, attentive care and is alert at all times.
Maintain a clean environment and routinely follow our cleaning procedures.
Use a diverse selection of materials, toys and experiences for all participants.
Maintain the cleanliness of the Kids Club room and equipment, performing all required shift duties as specified by supervisor
Exercise sound judgment in relationship to member safety & injuries. Follow all emergency procedures
Visually inspect work area and equipment for safety and risk, report to supervisor in writing any problems.
Responsible for filling out accident/incident reports and getting these reports to the Youth and Family Program Coordinator. Additionally, immediately report any unsafe or suspicious activity directly to Youth and Family Program Coordinator or Director on Duty.
Embrace and adhere to service excellence standards; provide outstanding service to your customers and constituents.
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth. Complete required abuse risk management training. Follow mandated abuse reporting procedures, including reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
Wear appropriate mask and personal protective equipment as required
Enhanced cleaning in areas where the employee is not directly/normally assigned as well as normally assigned areas. All employees are expected to assist in and support the efforts of the YGMC when it comes to health and wellness for the facility and other locations where the YGMC conducts business. All employees are expected to wipe machines, screens, computers, phones or anything that is used after they use it, all employees are expected to wash their hands on a frequent basis (recommended every 30 minutes if possible), and use hand sanitizer when hand washing is not available.
The employee may be assigned to areas other than their normally assigned area as needed to meet organizational needs. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, being assigned areas to count people, help direct flow of traffic in an area, being assigned to a specific area to assist with doors, and any other duty as needed by the organization.
Represent the YMCA in a professional manner and promote a positive and cheerful environment.
Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and continuing job training.
Be able to complete payroll on time each week on the ADP Mobile application on your personal phone.
Perform any other

duties assigned by
Youth and Family Program Coordinator
or Branch
Executive Director.
Any person who cannot be present for their assigned shift because of an appointment, sick or vacation time is required to find a substitute and notify the Membership Director by phone and/or email at your earliest available time.
Qualifications:
The individual must be at least 16 years of age. 18+ preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Child Care facility or as a babysitter.
The individual should have a broad understanding of childcare policies.
The individual must possess and demonstrate the ability to engage in all the activities associated with the daily routines of the program’s children, including but not limited to: interacting with children at floor level, lifting children and equipment, participating in activities such as reading.
Must possess oral and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both adult and children.
First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days
of hire date

Notify Wellness Director within 60 days before First Aid, CPR/AED expiration date. The YMCA provides First Aid, CPR/AED recertification classes.
