    Here’s what you will do as Junior

    Product Developer



    Reporting to the Manager of Product Development, the Junior Product Developer will

    work in a project-based environment working on documentation, samples, project work and various testing. More specifically:

    • Prepare samples for customers and/or trade shows. Organize samples inventory;

    • Manage the sample receiving process with appropriate documentation techniques;

    • Organize sample inventory adding value to project execution;

    • Assist product developers in documenting product information, internal product reviews and customer presentations;

    • Update databases and systems as required (i.e. formulations, new food sources, bill of materials, research and development of raw materials, nutritional fact tables, etc.);

    • Assist in developing and testing new and existing ingredients;

    • Ensure products meet food safety parameters and rules;

    • Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of the Company.

    Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

    • An undergraduate degree in food/ nutrition sciences or relevant experience;

    • New grads with a food science background or relevant product development experience. Experience making samples and strong documentation techniques an asset;

    • Basic understanding of ingredients and formula portfolios;

    • Basic knowledge of applicable government regulations (i.e. CFIA / FDA),

      allergens

      and

      Food Safety;

    • Strong MS Office Suite (including Excel and PowerPoint);

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience writing clear, concise and accurate procedural documentation;

    • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, investigative, and analytical skills;

    • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;

    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills;

    • Flexible, adaptable and open to wearing many hats in our small, nimble and growing business;

    • Understanding of food and industry trends;

    • Motivated with a passion for food; dedicated and reliable performer who consistently delivers results.
