  • Description We are in search of an IT Support Technician 2 to be a part of our team, stationed in NEW HAVEN, Connecticut. The selected candidate will be tasked with managing the desktop computing environment of a client department, maintaining computer software and hardware, and providing support to clients in their use of desktop equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the desktop computing environment of a client department, ensuring its smooth operation.

    • Maintain an inventory of installed operating systems and application software, ensuring all versions are up-to-date.

    • Keep an inventory of installed devices, recommend replacements according to guidelines, and interact with vendors in the acquisition of computer products.

    • Install and coordinate repairs of a wide variety of computing devices and peripherals on the desktop and attached to the network.

    • Respond to both emergency and routine calls for computer assistance in support of core services such as email, scheduling and backup systems, as well as client department-specific applications. Document all reported problems.

    • Train clients in the use of their desktop equipment, enhancing their understanding and proficiency.

    • Collaborate with others to ensure smooth integration of network and software products.

    • Analyze, recommend, and implement work-group computing solutions to meet client department's needs.

    • Train other support technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise.

    • Complete and document technical projects such as the testing of hardware and software products. Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft tools and software

    • Experience with Active Directory and its management

    • Familiarity with computer hardware and ability to perform hardware repairs

    • Proficiency in deskside support and ability to handle user issues effectively

    • Knowledge and experience with Mac computers and related software

    • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for common IT issues

    • Experience with network troubleshooting, including diagnosing connectivity issues
