  • Job summary

    We are seeking a service-oriented and self-motivated professional to join our IT team. This position provides supervisory leadership of the information technology department including the management and maintenance of all hardware, software, network, and digital needs in collaboration with the global it team.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides managerial leadership in managing all IT service management processes and business tools.
    • Acts as the primary local manager for digital services and the main point of contact between the North American and German Information and Technology teams.
    • Supervises the information technology department, including hiring, training, evaluating staff, and overseeing the daily operations of the IT Department.
    • Collaborates closely with the lead Information and Technology team in Germany to:
      1. Execute initiatives and align local strategies with global objectives.
      2. Outline and implement network and system security tools and protocols in North America.
      3. Test, evaluate, and make decisions about new technology for the business.
    • Provides comprehensive IT support to Dedon and Gloster teams across various locations and for remote employees in North America.
    • Develops and maintains a robust user training program, including training staff in the use of applications software and designing ongoing training as required.
    • Participates in business-wide meetings to offer insights into technical requirements and ensure IT alignment with organizational goals.
    • Current technologies and systems used at DEDON include:
      1. Jira Service Management
      2. Microsoft Dynamics CRM
      3. Microsoft Business Central (including AddOns like InsightWorks)
      4. Fortinet Firewalling
      5. Extreme Networks & Cisco Networking
      6. Microsoft 365 incl. Azure
      7. Amazon Web Services
      8. Backblaze
      9. KnowBe4 – Sec. Awareness Platform

    Job requirements and qualifications

    • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
    • 6 years of experience preferred.
    • Certifications like ITIL, Prince or knowledge in project management frameworks are preferred.
    • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
    • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
    • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
    • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
    • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central is beneficial.
    • Good written and excellent oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-experts is required.
    • Hours may include some evenings and weekends. Regular travel to all branches / showrooms my be required from time to time.
