IT Security Analyst

Essential Job Summary:

This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with the ability to anticipate security needs and address promptly. The IT Security Analyst will monitor, analyze, and mitigate potential security risks, respond to security incidents, and implement best practices and security protocols to safeguard company data. This position will report to the IT Security Supervisor.

• Play a role in the security incident response process.
• Identify and help mitigate security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities.
• Implement new and update existing security measures.
• Contribute to creation of runbooks.
• Develop appropriate policy, standards, guidelines, process, and procedures for remediation.
• Utilize log ingestion platform for security analytics and identification of tactics, techniques and patterns of attackers.
• Manage phishing campaigns, educating staff and users on best practices and implement regular training to ensure awareness.
• Manage email security software.
• Continuously monitor and assess the organization's IT systems and network infrastructure for potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Work on authentication issues.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations and assist in audits.
• Enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard data and systems.
• Respond to out of hours Information security escalations and handle incidents as necessary to meet the business needs.

Requirements and Qualifications::

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree with 1-3 years of experience in a medium or large-sized organization in a Security role.
• Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards
• Be in tune with current technologies and trends in cyber security methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls, encryption, and password protection and authentication.
• Experience working with incident response.
• Technical knowledge of security, network security and operating security.
• Have a fundamental understanding of cyber security protocols and best practices in network and data security.
• Experience with security industry standards and best practices
• Problem solving skills with attention to detail and ability to analyze complex systems.
• Thrive in a tight-nit and cross-functional environment - being a team player.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clear reports and effectively communicate security protocols.
• Strong analytical skills to review data to develop actionable strategies

USD $65,000.00/Yr. Salary Range Maximum:
USD $75,000.00/Yr.
