GENERAL DUTIES
I.T. Associates perform moderately complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Associates work in areas such as development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include resolving complex technology problems and serving as a technical resource. They have considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may have supervisory responsibilities.
I.T. Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines.

The CUNY School of Medicine (CUNY SoM) located in the heart of Harlem, New York, is the only medical school in the City University of New York system and the only public medical school in Manhattan. Building upon 50 years of success as the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, the institution transitioned to the CUNY School of Medicine (SoM) in 2016. The CUNY SoM offers an accelerated BS/MD degree (7-year program) and a Physician Assistant Master's Degree (27 months program). CUNY SoM is seeking a dynamic IT and HR professional dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering positive work experiences for our employees. Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the HR IT Associate (H) will play a crucial role in supporting HR operations and acts as a liaison between IT and HR leadership. In addition to the General Duties, the HR IT Associate (H) will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Work with Human Resources, Payroll team, and others to document, streamline, and systematically document and improve workflow processes; Maintain a list for CUNYfirst HR user access roles and troubleshoot access conflicts when applicable; Make security and access recommendations for HRIS access consistent with IT policies and practices.
Assist with the installation, support, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptops, handheld devices, printers, and other peripherals assigned to HR; Maintain equipment inventory by updating a log with equipment information and location(s) and share information with the IT Department on a regular basis.
Create and maintain a user-friendly library of hard copy and online training materials; including videos, manuals, reference guides for helpful self-service HR related topics for faculty and staff that are both easy to use and are readily accessible; Create and maintain HR-specific documentation for various application systems navigation and other HRIS system administrative functions.
Provide HRIS system overview and orientation session to new HR Department hires; Assists staff with resolving online and desktop application technical issues; Continually evaluate new potential add-ons/integrations and keep management informed of new and changing technology options.
Create and maintain HR data analytics including repository and dashboard development and consult with IT to develop tools and resources for HR data and knowledgebase; Develop and monitor the HR Service Now ticketing system and disseminate inquiries to the appropriate HR team.
Analyze and create HR queries and monthly reports such as: Headcount, Termination, Benefits, Compensation, etc.; Generate ad hoc reports as requested.
Consult with the Business Data & Reporting Analysts regarding errors and missing information for all personnel actions; Analyze and maintain a high level of CUNYfirst data accuracy by reviewing, verifying and auditing all employee personnel actions on a quarterly basis.
May perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of HR or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of seven years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: seven years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus five years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus three years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This job has three levels. To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED:
Minimum of three (3) years' extensive query creation in CUNYfirst and report development experience required
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, scorecards, etc.
Advanced skills and proficiency in Excel/Word, SharePoint, and Access required
Some experience with Tableau or other data analytic software
Excellent analytical, problem solving and complex logic skills
Great attention to detail
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work independently or within a team setting.
Prior experience or internship within IT in higher education or in medical field a plus.

$44.03 Per Hour
