The Multi Asset Solutions Team (MAST) manages over $160 billion of multi-asset and outcome-oriented portfolios distributed across the Institutional, Retail, and Retirement platforms at Manulife.
The investment strategist team within MAST is hiring an Investment Associate reporting to a Managing Director. This role will help with the day-to-day activities of the team, including investment strategy research, creating reports, maintaining data, and supporting content for delivery to clients.
Responsibilities
Support senior MAST members by compiling economic and market data, producing analysis, and developing and updating charts.
Support the firm's investment strategists in the development of thought leadership content and related deliverables.
Develop and maintain up-to-the-minute knowledge of positioning across the firm's global investment strategies.
Track economic and market views from a sizeable network of research providers and distribution partners.
Maintain knowledge of daily market and economic activity, as well as investor/advisor trends; produce analysis and create reports as needed.
Maintain a detailed database of asset allocation decisions over time; track and analyze decisions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Support team on research projects related to investment and macroeconomic strategy.
Job Requirements
Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
2+ years of experience in the investment industry
Graduate degree and/ or CFA preferred (or progress towards one or both)
Experience with research tools such as Factset, Bloomberg, and Morningstar
Knowledge of global markets and asset allocation
Well-developed research and analytical skills; attention to detail and quality
Highly quantitative; advanced proficiency in excel required (e.g. building macros, troubleshooting complex formulas)
Key Success Factors
Responsiveness (ability to get back to requests quickly, dive in on projects etc)
Precision (is the data correct, is the successful candidate helping us catch mistakes, do they help with overall quality control)
Innovation (creating original content for presentations, blogs, tweets, etc. developing new reports, etc.).

Salary range is expected to be between
$74,000.00 USD - $124,000.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
