  • The Investment Analyst is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of consolidated performance reporting for use of Senior management. The role is also responsible for production of custom investment product performance compared to market indexes and peers using internal and external data sources to aid decision making on a variety of investment related initiatives. The Global Investment Analysis and Board Reporting Team covers all investment platforms domiciled in Canada, including retail, institutional and retirement channels. Global strategic projects and cross-training opportunities on products in other regions will also be necessary.

    Responsibilities :

    Aid in the perpetual oversight of our products by

    • Preparing and analyzing monthly performance reports

    • Conducting competitive fee analysis for new and existing products

    • Assembling and examining quarterly materials for the oversight and investment committees

    • Deliver accurate and timely reports, performance analytics, attribution, assets under management, fee analysis and strategic partner reporting for business units, investment committees and Boards

    • Synthesize large amounts of data to determine trends and summarize key data elements for presentation to key internal stakeholders, especially the Global Investment Product leadership team

    • Manage global reporting projects covering the global platform, aggregating data from funds domiciled in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia

    • Support strategic projects and product development efforts with market and competitor research utilizing third party research providers

    • Track key information on strategic partnerships & compile reports/presentations on the partnerships

    • Aiding in the preparation and execution of annual onsite visits with fund managers, collaborating with manager research team

    • Work with regional investment product teams on product/competitor research and investment committee/board of directors' materials

    • Ongoing oversight and maintenance of various internal and external databases

    • Experience with financial software: Morningstar Direct, PowerBI, Mercer/eVestment, and Strategic Insight Simfund

    Knowledge/Skills:

    • 2-3+ years of applicable experience required

    • Knowledge of investments and investment concepts

    • Experience and deep understanding of various types of products, their mechanics and competitive landscape: Mutual Funds, ETFs, Model Portfolios, Segregated Funds

    • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics

    • Progress toward CFA/CAIA or CIMA also preferred

    • Experience using MS Office and other financial software listed below

    • Emphasis on strong Microsoft Excel skills

    • Prior use of Morningstar Direct is strongly preferred

    • Power BI experience is strongly preferred

    • Knowledge of Python, Visual Basic / macros and SQL a strong plus

    • Ability to work through complex problems with attention to detail

    • Possess strong organizational skills

    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including a developed ability to present to audiences of varying backgrounds and expertise

    • Strategic thinker with good judgment and strong understanding of process

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a team member and also as an independent individual contributor

    Salary range is expected to be between

    $71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CAD
