  • The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of novel aortic/mitral/tricuspid valvular heart disease intervention, acute pulmonary embolism management and intervention, and renal denervation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and grow novel interventional programs in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary clinical teams. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology.

    Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, medical residents, and training cardiovascular fellows in interventional procedures. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.

    Clinical responsibilities may include performing and interpreting invasive (non-interventional) cardiac catheterization studies in the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Chester County Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as percutaneous coronary intervention and inpatient consultative services. Specific qualifications include training and ability to independently perform coronary interventions, structural interventions and peripheral interventions.
