Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern.
What you'll do:
Primary Function:
The Engineering Intern position with Eaton's Power Systems Engineering Group will primarily involve reviewing project specifications & single line diagrams, correspondence to gather data, performing power system analysis studies, electrical design, and some AutoCAD drafting.
Essential Functions:
Provide applied engineering in the areas of power system studies, power quality analysis, and electrical power system design.
Performing short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load flow, power quality, and arc flash hazard analysis studies.
Review project specifications, single-line diagrams, and equipment Bill of Materials.
Prepare power system study data requests and follow up as required.
Assist with electrical substation and protection & control design tasks.
Manage paperwork and office procedures.
Perform all work at a high level.
Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Degree program with preference given to 3rd and 4th-year students with a focus on electrical power systems.
This position does not offer relocation.
Valid driver's license required.
Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Good organizational and time management skills required.
Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience in the use of SKM PTW, ETAP, EDSA, CYME, or EasyPower power system analysis software would be a plus.
Ability to read and understand single-line diagrams and schematics would be an asset.
Knowledge of applicable electrical code requirements and design practices is an asset.
Good attitude and work ethic required.
