    We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our environmental services team in British Columbia (offices located in Burnaby, Vancouver, Victoria, Sidney, Kelowna, Kamloops, Quesnel, and Prince George). The position will join the Hydrogeology Technical Team of Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessments and groundwater supply development

    • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner

    • Organize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testing

    • Design and construction of groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater supply wells

    • Develop conceptual site hydrogeologic understanding

    • Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water and groundwater interaction

    • Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results and interpretation

    • Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules

    • Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required

    • Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines

    • Majority of time spent in office environment with prolonged sitting and computer work

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations

    • Ability to work on several projects or tasks during any given day on a consistent basis

    • Recognized for your high level of technical skills and practical ability to solve problems in various settings

    • Must be able to manage time, be organized, and set priorities

    • Maintain a disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence

    • Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions

    • Participate in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work

    • Familiarity with local practice and markets as well as entry level project management skills are considered an asset

    • A valid driver's license is required

    Education and Experience

    Post-secondary educational background specializing in a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology.

    A minimum of 3 years of professional hydrogeology experience.

    Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)

    Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods.

    Salary Range(s):

    • Lower Mainland $84,500/BC Other Areas $79,700 - Lower Mainland $122,400/BC Other Areas $115,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
