    BASIC FUNCTION:

    Implements the centralized intake process from various sources, i.e., detoxification, rehabilitation, and outpatient programs, to maintain program census. Conducts motivational interviews and assesses clients for admission.

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    · Conducts clinical diagnostic interviews with candidates and implements admissions criteria for direct admission for all programs. (outpatient and inpatient)

    · Obtains release from clients to secure information from child welfare, parole, probation, legal aid, and other providers.

    · Writes letters to outside agencies informing them of services provided by the program.

    · Serves as the liaison between referral sources during the admission process.

    · Completes OASAS-required reports.

    · Receives phone referrals, sets up screening appointments, and writes notes on assessment interviews.

    · Works closely with LCSW and medical staff in regard to clients' medical/psychological issues relating to appropriateness for admission.

    · Submits reports concerning the number of clients seen and disposition.

    · Submit census reports indicating the number of clients on the waiting list, the number of clients in the program, discharges, and new admissions.

    · Maintains relationships through ongoing outreach with all potential referral sources.

    · Fills in for other Counselors who are on leave.

    · Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

    SCHEDULE: Full Time

    SALARY: $45,000 - $50,000 / yearly dependent on experience

    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATION - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    · GED/High School diploma and CASAC required; or CASAC-T and relevant experience/. Must obtain CASAC within 6 months of employment.

    · Must be multi-culturally sensitive to the needs of clients with substance use disorder. Computer competent.

    Compensation details: 45000-50000 Yearly Salary
