Job Description

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure solutions. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems while also optimizing performance and cost-effectiveness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions to support our applications and services.

• Plans, upgrades, and deploys systems using established standards.

• Assists with task and project level planning and accurately reports the status of all assignments.

• Actively develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents.

• Expert knowledge of application virtualization and delivery.

• Expert knowledge of remote access solutions.

• Understanding capacity planning and monitoring.

• Identify and troubleshoot systems and network problems and escalate when necessary.

• Work closely with lead network engineer to ensure the enterprise infrastructure is configured to provide optimized performance.

• Estimate, organize and execute tasks associated with the role with minimal assistance.

• Develop project timelines and roadmaps for large initiative projects.

• Expert level understanding of core IT infrastructure, best practices, and implementation strategies (security, GPO, high-availability).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure requirements and provide technical expertise and guidance.

• Proactively seeks to improve infrastructure and IT services.

• Manages time efficiently in order to multitask project activity alongside daily operational tasks.

• Implement best practices for system security, data protection, and disaster recovery.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and availability.

• Automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

• Manage cloud resources and services.

• Execute plans for proactive system fixes that prevent incidents that impact availability and user experience from occurring.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

• Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for supervising multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 10+ years experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.

• Windows Server OS (Various Version) and Microsoft Active Directory including DNS, LDAP, etc.

• System Backup and Recovery (Veeam)

• Experience with Virtual Infrastructure technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)

• Experience with Azure networking concepts (virtual networks, routing, security groups)

• Experience with load balancing technology

• Experience with Storage Infrastructures (HP/3PAR/PURE)

• Experience with Shell/Powershell/Python scripting

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

• Proven experience with architecture and deployment of software components into cloud based infrastructures.

• Heavy experience with optimizing configuration management and server deployment using automation

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
