  • DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for a talented Diesel in-shop technician to join our team in Dartmouth.

    This position is in a union environment. Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday

    Candidates with other engine certifications than Cummins are encouraged to apply.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.

    • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.

    • Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.

    • Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

    • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.

    • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

    • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisors.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Heavy duty mechanic Journeyman certification

    • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience

    • This position will require you to work on Cummins Engine platforms and other brands.

    • Basic level of workshop experience required.

    • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

    • Knowledge of Quick serve and Cummins Insite would be considered an asset.
