    This position exists to provide managerial direction to the agency-wide programs of continuous improvement, telework, hybrid work and project/program implementation for the Department of Human Services.

    The incumbent is responsible for

    • Developing and maintaining the strategic direction and operations of these programs as well as managing human, financial, and other resources throughout Improvement & Implementation Services (I&IS) to ensure critical agency deliverables are met.

    • Drive I&IS to meet DHS needs and strategic goals while fostering a culture of improvement and innovation at DHS.

    • Communicates I&IS goals and progress upward to MSD and DHS executive management as well as communicates downward overall division and agency priorities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Demonstrated leadership experience*

    *Leadership experience can include:

    • Experience as a supervisor, leadworker, team lead, project lead;

    • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);

    • A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include:

    o 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions

    o 100+ hours per year time commitment

    AND

    • 5 years of specialized experience leading and completing complex, large-scale projects with a focus in two or more of the following: continuous improvement, project management, change management or data management.

    • Experience with adult learning in a large organization.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

    • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
