    Description:

    The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs all types of refrigeration equipment, Boiler, Chilled water, Generator, Medical gas, Medical vacuum, Domestic water, Air Handling, Hydronic Heating and cooling, Steam Distribution, Pneumatic Control and associated component support systems. They must also have a working knowledge of Fire systems, Sterilization, and various other building systems and know how to access support personnel as necessary.

    About The Job:

They must also have a working knowledge of Fire systems, Sterilization, and various other building systems and know how to access support personnel as necessary.

    What we are looking for:

    Education [formal]:

    • High school education diplomas or equivalent required

    • Specialized training in refrigeration and plumbing related to refrigeration applications.

    • EPA certification for handling Freon is preferred.

    • High and Low Pressure Boiler License preferred.

    Experience

    • Minimum of four years experience working with a variety of refrigeration systems, hospital experience highly desirable or graduate of a Two year HVAC program.

    Special Skills and Competencies

    • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

    • Proficient in interpreting drawings, details and specifications of refrigeration equipment.

    • Working knowledge of codes (UBC and local).

    • May be required to work after hours or weekends due to emergencies or in areas unavailable during regular hours.

    • Valid drivers license required.

    • Must be able to wear appropriate mask and be fit tested on an annual basis.

    • Possess knowledge of current local and state plumbing codes.

    Motor Vehicle:

    • If required to operate Mercy vehicle, will need to have proof of and maintain valid driver's license on file with Human Resources.
