  • SUMMARY:

    The Housekeeping Team Member is responsible for the overall upkeep of all KARM buildings and grounds (interior and exterior) and other assets. This person takes ownership for the ministry objective of offering overwhelming Biblical hospitality in all aspects of what we do. The Housekeeping Team Member may oversee residents, guests, and volunteers who assist with housekeeping activities and projects. This person also performs the necessary tasks to repair, maintain, and improve KARM facilities and assets.

    DUTIES:

    • Maintain daily and periodic checklists and standards for essential housekeeping duties
    • Coordinate projects for volunteers/groups as well as host, coach and support volunteers/groups, exhibiting overwhelming hospitality and ensuring a positive serving experience
    • Coordinate and prioritize responses to housekeeping requests and all daily housekeeping activities and provide proper communication with requesters
    • Coordinate work processes with other departments
    • Perform housekeeping tasks within various areas such as laundry, floor machines, chemical dispenser usage, etc.
    • Exhibit a caring Christian lifestyle to residents, guests, staff and volunteers
    • Insure safety and compliance with policies and procedures
    • Maintain inventory control through the ordering, receiving and distribution of housekeeping supplies
    • Maintain chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals
    • Maintain familiarity and competency for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing all housekeeping systems and equipment
    • Conduct walk-through inspections with Director of Operations to determine priorities for buildings and grounds
    • Work with vendors and contractors as needed for materials, maintenance and repair for all KARM facilities and assets
    • Utilize company vehicle to purchase business supplies and deliver supplies and equipment to other facilities
    • Perform other duties as required

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar setting
    • Basic housekeeping skills including laundry, floor machines, chemical dispenser usage, etc.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills
    • Effective time management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
    • Good organizational and administrative skills with demonstrated accuracy in recordkeeping
    • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills
    • Ability to work within time constraints and with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work as part of a team and effectively adapt to change
    • Meet all requirements for driving in the state of Tennessee (current state license w/Fendorsement, acceptable MVR, proof of current personal vehicle insurance)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Commitment to Christian faith required

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Light industrial setting
    • Field based with occasional travel to other KARM facilities
    • Hazards associated with hands-on maintenance tasks
    • Pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment weighing up to 120 pounds
    • Pushing /pulling as much as 300 pounds on a flat cart
    • Emergency contact for maintenance issues both during and after hours
    • Walking or standing for long periods of time; bending, stooping, crouching, climbing as needed
    • Various environmental conditions (cold, hot, dusty, wet, and possible exposure to blood borne pathogens)
    • Occasional required attendance at KARM special events or to host a volunteer group during weekend or evening hours
