    The Facility HIM Supervisor is responsible for managing, coordinating, and performing the day-to-day operations and workflow of the facility based HIM operations. You will assists the HIM Manager with the oversight and implementation of facility related HIM service operational planning, service level agreements, budgets, workflow processes, and internal controls. The Supervisor actively participates in the facility based unbilled management process and resolution of issues contributing to unbilled accounts. You will serves as a leader of the Department and is the on-site HIM representative.

    Your Job Requirements

    • High School Graduate or equivalent is required.

    • 5 years experience in a department, or graduate of a certified HIM program with 1 year HIM experience.

    • RHIA/RHIT preferred

    • Acknowledgement of Paternity certification required.

    Your Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for managing the day-to-day facility based HIM operations and staff including, but not limited to, record pick up and reconciliation, release of information and birth certificate/paternity processing.

    • Participates in communication efforts with HIM personnel, facility departments, unit leadership, facility leadership, and medical staff, serving as a key HIM contact for the facility implementation of activities and project core team meetings.

    • Handles all patient amendments by following the policy and guidelines in place for this function.

    • Performs facility unbilled activities including physician query follow up, physician incomplete record follow up, and collaborates with facility department leaders in monitoring and working unbilled reports.

    • Completes the physician suspension process on a weekly basis and reports to the, hospital and corporate leadership teams.

    • Works collaboratively with Medical STAFFnd Facility Leadership to comply with standards and guidelines enforced through the Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations (e.g.., suspension of privileges) and is responsible for facilitation and execution of physician notification processes regarding medical records.

    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with ancillary departments and unit managers to ensure optimal record management.

    • Coaches and helps develop team members by consistently performing productivity and quality monitoring and utilizing discipline and counseling as necessary.

    • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by HIM leadership.
