    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

    Educate youth, families, providers and the community about the Wraparound process

    Provide education and assistance in navigating the child serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care, etc.)

    Support others working with the youth to understand youth culture

    Assist the youth to understand and express their needs, goals and decisions

    Role model effective behavior for the youth to show a pattern of having healthy relationships with others. Showing positive and healthy responses to stress and conflict, and demonstrating positive social skills are other indications of role modeling.

    Help the youth learn self-advocacy skills to articulate his/her talents and strengths, get involved in positive activities where they can succeed, and consider the pros and cons and the reasons for their actions.

    Promote and strengthen healthy relationships that will help support and develop the youth's social skills and a social environment

    Schedule at least one face-to-face meeting with family prior to the first Wraparound Child & Family Team meeting to aid the youth and parent(s)/guardian(s) in preparing for the first Wraparound Child & Family Team meeting

    Attend appropriate meetings as requested by the youth and parent(s)/guardian(s)

    Complete all required reports and other paperwork as directed

    Report Right Away to the proper state/legal authorities-this is any situation you observe that is dangerous to yourself or others. Follow agency's reporting policy for situations of child abuse/neglect as well as situations that are dangerous to self of others.

    Work in collaboration with Wraparound Coach/Supervisor and Wraparound Facilitator to strengthen Wraparound Team rapport and overcome challenges

    Additional Information

    Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served.

    Applicants must have a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance.

    Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    Life experiences as a beneficiary of mental health or substance abuse services; AND

    Bachelor's degree in a human services field from a college or university; OR

    Associate's degree in a human service field from an accredited school and one (1) year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; OR

    High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth

    Committed to forming relationships with the youth or young adults they work with the capability of being patient, culturally aware and respectful

    Experience in navigating any of the child and family serving systems and sharing these skills

    Will complete NC Youth Move Leadership Series and the National Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Support Curriculum in their first year of employment

    Will complete the Vroon VDB Coaching and Training credentialing

    Participate in, and successfully complete, all required training

    A knowledge of community resources; preferably experience with local resources

    Possess a current, valid driver's license and automobile with proof of auto insurance
