Heavy Equipment Operator

We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join the team at Sanford Recycling & TS in Sanford, FL . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus , but willing to train the right candidate.

Th e p osition is a Day Shift working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week. Pay Range for this position is $19-$23+ DOE.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Maintenance around the site and facilities as needed

• Spreading and compacting trash using a Compactor

• Spreading daily cover using a Dozer

• Excavating soil using an Excavator

• Hauling soil

W ORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred

• Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility

• Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily

• Able to work outside in all weather conditions

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
