As a Compliance Investigator, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization by conducting in-depth investigations into potential compliance issues and ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations and UCLA Health policies. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with diverse departments, making a tangible impact on our commitment to compliance and ethical standards. Primary duties include:

    • Lead comprehensive investigations of reported compliance issues, such as fraud, waste, and abuse, with a focus on protecting the integrity of UCLA Health.

    • Gather and analyze data, documentation, and evidence to support investigative findings.

    • Conduct interviews with employees, patients, and external entities.

    • Develop detailed investigative reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommended corrective actions.

    • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and track their effectiveness.

    • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on compliance matters and promoting awareness of our policies.

    • Assist in developing and delivering compliance training to employees.

    • Monitors and analyzes casework trends and provide strategic recommendations.

    The full annual salary range for this position is $112,900.00 - $256,900.00/year. Please note - the department's target pay range: $115,000 - $160,000/year.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience (e.g. conducting complex investigations, interviewing witnesses, preparing investigation reports). * Prior experience as an investigator for a state or federal investigation agency (e.g., HHS OIG, FBI, etc.) is highly desirable. * Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including the False Claims Act, HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant laws.* Experience in preparing educational content for training purposes.* High level of integrity and ethical conduct, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.* Ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously and meet deadlines.* Advanced degree (JD or Master's degree) is preferred.
