  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    Develops, recommends, and implements health education programs designed to increase awareness and knowledge relating to the improvement of health on an individual, family or community basis. Updates health education programs, consistent with changes in health care trends and technology. Responsible for implementing strategies to improve the health of individuals and communities by teaching people about behaviors that promote health and wellness. Promotes, maintains, and improves individual and/or community health by assisting individuals and communities through evidence-based health information to adopt healthy behaviors P2 pay scale.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversees the efforts of designated CCP staff to provide administrative or training support for professional services requests. This may include coordination of the development of new, or adaption of existing curricula and materials in response to specific funder requests for professional educational services.

    • Develops, recommends and implement professional educational servicesin the specializedfields listed above. Applies adult learning theory to develop an educational design that includes both experiential and didactic methodologies. Use a variety of modalities to deliver professional educational services including distance learning modalities (webinars, on-line courses, podcasts, etc.).

    • Updates and provides professional guidance within requested educational programs and maintains a working knowledge of specialized fields of evidence-based public health practice, HIV/STD/VH prevention, and evidence-based behavioral science interventions by accessing CCP electronic library resources, reviewing literature, participating in webinars, active participation in staff development sessions, attending relevant state and national conferences and meetings.

    • Coordinates the provision of professional education programs with other state and national organizations and collaborate to provide professional education services.

    • Coordinates program needs with budget monitoring of revenues and expenditures, working with the financial manager.

    • Assesses and adapts professional educational program curricula and materials to ensure cultural competency as well as linguistic and educational appropriateness to different professional audience including physicians, nurses and other clinicians, social workers, case managers, and other health professionals.

    • Analyzes data of professional education programs to assess desired education outcomes and produce draft evaluation reports and recommendations to management.

    • Coordinates quality improvement activities based on evaluation data.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or technical field and 2 years of related experience.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing, allied health, education, or social sciences field and 1-3 years program experience in the fields of evidence-based public health practice, communicable disease including HIV/STD/VH care and prevention, and evidence-based behavioral science intervention. A minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience in professional education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Experience conducting professional training and workshops, both in-person and virtually.

    • Requires frequent travel (inside NYS and NE region of U.S.).

    • Familiarity with CDC's HIP interventions and current knowledge of HIV/STI/VH prevention.

    • Experience working with Black and Brown gay men and LGBTGNC communities a plus.

    • Fluency in speaking/reading/writing Spanish.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

    • Effective writing, problem solving, interpersonal communication skills, group facilitation skills and cultural responsiveness.

    • Able to function both independently and as part of a team. Able to take initiative, demonstrate resourcefulness, commitment to follow through and ensure high quality, timely completion of work

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $46,987 - $65,790 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
