    Salary/Pay Range : $ 53,000 - $62,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

    Summary

    Head coach the varsity women's lacrosse team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.

    Essential Functions

    The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

    • Coaching

    • Train varsity women's lacrosse teams for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.

    • Develop and implement 5 year, annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily plan for practice and development.

    • Develop and implement game plan.

    • Maintain and increase knowledge of lacrosse training and coaching techniques.

    • Supervise the training, development and placement of staff personnel.

    • Recruiting

    • Evaluate prospective student-athletes.

    • Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes.

    • Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.

    • Supervise National Letter of Intent Signing and Athletic Financial Aid Contracts.

    • Academics

    • Monitor academic performance of student-athletes.

    • Counsel student-athletes.

    • Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.

    • Scheduling

    • Plan and coordinate Division II women's lacrosse schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and institutional guidelines.

    • Supervise home game administration.

    • Plan and coordinate team travel and lodging.

    • Fund Raising

    • Solicit sponsors to provide cash, merchandise and/or services.

    • Organize and sponsor tournaments and other athletic events.

    • Public Relations

    • Develop and maintain positive public relations with the University and community.

    • Project positive image of UCCS and Department of Athletics.

    • Supervise correspondence regarding UCCS lacrosse.

    • Promote UCCS lacrosse.

    • Other Duties

    • Adhere to and assist in the development of the budget of the women's lacrosse program.

    • Other duties as prescribed by the Director of Athletics.

    Tentative Search Timeline

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

    • 3 years of experience coaching women's lacrosse at the collegiate level.

    Preferred Requirements

    • Head Coaching experience at the NCAA Division II level.

    • Proven ability to motivate the scholar athlete to perform in the classroom and playing field.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, reach, handle, talking, have near acuity and visual depth perception. The employee will often be exposed to noise. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
