    Tatum by Randstad is working with a medical facility near Downtown Denver looking for a Group Controller. Someone with a current and heavy background in medical and hospital management.

    You will oversee and manage the financial services for several facilities and hospitals, including the development and administration of policies related to finance, accounting, insurance, financial systems, internal controls, and auditing. Your responsibilities will include managing functions such as reimbursements, budgeting, patient accounting, medical records, admissions, and general accounting, which includes general ledger, accounts payable, and cashiering.

    You will also prepare financial reports that detail the hospital's assets, liabilities, income, and expenses based on past, current, and projected operations. Additionally, you will participate in the creation and planning of the company's strategic, operational, and service design plans to ensure alignment with its mission and vision.

    responsibilities

    • Lead financial activities and manage multiple subordinate department managers overseeing staff in various departments, such as Admitting, Business Office, and Accounting.

    • Participate in the development and planning of the company's strategic, operational, and service design plans to align with its mission and vision.

    • Develop and document a scope of services, alongside departmental policies and procedures that align with the mission and vision.

    • Recommend and determine adequate staffing levels, establish qualifications and performance expectations, and ensure competence for each role.

    • Create and manage departmental budgets for revenue, capital, and operational expenses, staffing, and resource allocation based on the scope of services.

    • Oversee the integration and coordination of financial services with other departments and key Market functions.

    • Provide orientation, in-service training, continuing education, and conduct annual performance and competency reviews for department staff to maintain competency.

    • Encourage and support staff in implementing operational, programmatic, and departmental plans.

    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of hospital financial statements.

    • Implement all financial policies and procedures established by the Corporation through its Board of Directors.

    • Participate in the financial planning processes, both long-term and short-term.

    • Engage in performance improvement activities to evaluate and enhance the quality of services provided by the hospital and department.

    • Guide the development of accounting, admission, credit/collection, and internal control policies and systems, addressing related issues.

    • Recommend strategies and actions to address projected economic trends and regulatory changes.

    • Analyze the financial impact of proposed capital projects and expenditures and recommend appropriate measures in response to economic trends and regulatory changes.

    • Provide guidance in preparing and analyzing financial reports and statements according to standard accounting practices and take appropriate actions.

    • Review contracts and provide recommendations on their viability, cost, and conditions.

    • Advise hospital leaders in interpreting and analyzing financial data and reports.

    • Ensure timely and accurate information provision and facilitate efficient external audits, examinations, and related finance projects.

    qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

    Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

    5 years hospital/healthcare accounting in a leadership role is required (current)

    An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.

    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred but not required

    This role is 5 days a week onsite

    Salary range is $175-$200K plus bonus
