Grounds Laborer, Warren MI

PCSI is looking for a Grounds Laborer at its Detroit Arsenal Site! We are searching for a motivated, friendly team member to perform groundskeeper and maintenance duties. The right person will be proactive and take pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Grounds Supervisor and is based at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.

• Maintains grass with zero-turn lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, and various hand tools
• Utilizes power and hand tools to perform various landscaping activities, such as digging, moving, filling, and leveling the earth, river rock, and other fill material; places sod and grass seed; cleans ditches, culverts, & storm drains; removes / places mulch; pick up trash, leaves, and other debris
• Plants, trims, and removes trees, shrubs, and bushes using chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other power and hand tools
• Installs, maintains, repairs, and replaces signposts, signs, parking blocks, and fencing
• Spreads salt on icy roads & walkways by hand, manual spreader, and box spreaders; removes snow with shovels, utility vehicles, Polar Tracs, and plow trucks
• Performs operator maintenance on all tools and equipment used
• Can be placed on-call for after-hours emergency response
• Performs all related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required; pesticide/herbicide licenses desirable but not required
• Ability to work any time of the day and any day of the week in all weather conditions utilizing appropriate safety precautions and procedures; must be able to lift 50 lbs.; however, accommodation is available

• Must have twelve (12) months of recent/relevant Grounds Laborer experience
• Zero-turn mower operation
• Commercial snowplow experience
• Mechanical equipment repair experience is a plus

• Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, & motor vehicle report
• Maintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation
• Maintain a valid State of Michigan driver's license and remain insurable to operate Company vehicles
• Able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language
