    Graphic Designer, Whirlpool Program (6-month contract)

    In this role, the Graphic Designer will support Whirlpool's portfolio of brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and JennAir among others. Working very closely with Whirlpool's Senior Manager of Learning and Development, and other internal stakeholder groups creating content for the external/internal sales and service audience.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design, implement and test new features and functionality to improve the user experience

    • Create a consistent look and feel across designs, color palettes, typography, iconography, and user interface elements

    • Contribute to the design process, standards, style guide, and best practices for the Whirlpool Sales & Service Learning & Development Team

    • Continuous attention to process improvement and change management implementation

    • Support and foster an atmosphere that encourages design collaboration

    • Communicate ideas to a group of internal stakeholders, explaining rationale behind design decisions

    • Collaborate with retail partners to improve our brand's presence on their sites

    • Work to adapt and refine US developed content and experiences for Canadian content

    • Create banners, iconography, ads and other assets to bring to life brand activities

    • Design interfaces and user experiences for all of Whirlpool's brands and products for both B2C touchpoints and B2B digital touchpoints.

    • Identify areas of opportunities for clients and solve functional challenges through brainstorming, ideating, and designing digital solutions

    • Lend design advice to marketing teams and other departments where needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    SKILLS REQUIRED TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION:

    • 3+ years proven work experience with digital graphic design/content development

    • Background in user-centered design principles across pc, tablet, mobile formats

    • Strong time management, interpersonal, written and communication skills

    • A deep understanding of the end-to-end digital design process, including how to set up files to be responsive, create and use design systems, and integrate brand standards

    • Knowledge of established human-centered design practices and techniques, including inclusive design and the knowledge of accessibility standards like AODA and WCAG

    • Well versed in responsive design and UX/UI concepts and knowledge of web development

    • Knowledge in creating rich media online advertising and social media assets

    • Excellent working knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

    • Video and animation skills with the ability to work in Adobe After Effects and Premiere would be an asset

    • Working knowledge of either Adobe XD, Figma or Sketch

    • Experience with enterprise level Content Management Systems (i.e. AEM)

    • Handles multiple projects with changing priorities and meet concurrent deadlines

    • Build industry-leading solutions by staying up to date with design best practices and latest technologies

    • A portfolio sample displaying design skills is mandatory

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • University or College degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, or Digital Arts / Media

    • 3+ years of graphic design experience.

    • Ability to travel within Canada, as required by Whirlpool.
