    The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is currently seeking a Grants Coordinator in the Social Equity Division to administer the CanRenew grant. The CanRenew Grants Coordinator will support community investments in eligible communities and will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic policies and procedures for the CanRenew grant program and fostering community engagement. The incumbent will also make recommendations and devise solutions to procedural and operational issues.

    The Social Equity Division was born from the legislation that legalized recreational cannabis use. It is a fun and dynamic team dedicated to advancing social equity across the state. CanRenew will provide grants to eligible organizations for investments in communities where long-term residents are eligible to be social equity applicants.

    This position is located in St. Paul and may telework from home two days per week and is expected to be in the office three days per week.

    A successful incumbent in this position will be able to

    • Manage a grant application process and implement short- and long-term plans for the grant program

    • Foster community engagement and enhance support for social equity applicants and other targeted groups within the legal cannabis industry

    • Ensure program transparency and accountability through comprehensive reporting and compliance monitoring

    • Develop and implement strategic policies and procedures for the respective grant program

    • With support and oversight from the OCM finance team, monitor a budget of about $15 million in state grant funds

    Minimum Qualifications

    To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    • Two (2) years of experience managing grants and using a grant management system

    • Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft policies and procedures for a large grant program and communicate effectively with industry stakeholders

    • Ability to interpret financial data, manage budgets, and prepare grant reports

    • Ability to celebrate diversity and work effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures

    • Ability to problem solve and think independently

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Three (3) or more years of experience managing grants in the State of Minnesota.

    • Experience using SWIFT

    • Experience with inventory management systems

    • Knowledge of MN cannabis laws, rules, and regulations

    • Experience writing policies and procedures

    • Experience working with community partners with a focus on disparate impact, diversity, equity, and/or social justice and fairness
