Grants AccountantJob Description
The Grants Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of grants received by the organization. This role ensures compliance with grant requirements, accurate financial reporting, and effective management of grant funds.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain financial records related to grants, including reconciliations, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant agreements and organizational policies.
Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for grant proposals.
Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper allocation and use of grant funds.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of grant-related financial activities.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all grant-related transactions.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
Strong knowledge of grant management and compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with reconciliations, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
Work Environment
The organization offers flexibility with hybrid work, expecting team members to be in the office 1-2 days a week and for any in-person company meetings. Until the new office is ready, there is limited office space available, but desks are provided. This position is initially a contract-to-hire role, with the organization looking for someone long-term. The CFO is committed to training and helping the new hire grow their career. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.00
