  • Eaton's ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Government Sales Specialist - Central Region. This is a home-based role where candidates must reside within 50 miles of the following locations to be considered for the position: Waukesha, WI; Chanhassen, MN; Glendale Heights, IL; Galesburg, MI; Southfield, MI; Fenton, MO, or Lenexa, KS. Relocation assistance will be offered for successful applicants who live outside these locations.

    What you'll do:

    Position Overview:

    The primary function of the Government Sales Specialist is to sell Eaton's electrical products and turn-key installation services to defined government (federal, state and local) customers in the following targeted domestic area: central region of the United States. In doing so, the regional sales position will manage the customer relationships, providing sales support and technical expertise to end users, specifiers, and contractors. You will also build relationships with Eaton's internal operations and product lines to support customers and grow sales.

    In this function you will:

    • Consult with government customers to provide Eaton solutions

    • Own all sales activity for the specified government accounts

    • Develop and manage customer relationships at all levels within the customers' organizations

    • Train and empower channel partners to sell Eaton solutions to end customers

    • Be a subject matter expert on Eaton's product and service offerings

    • Function as the voice of the customer to Eaton's product lines, ensuring high customer service and satisfaction

    • Collect, analyze and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits

    • Prepare and present quotations to customers

    • Develop market-based growth strategies to ensure sustained success of Eaton's product lines

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR minimum (10) years of electrical or military industry experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

    • Minimum five (5) years of electrical solution sales experience

    • Possess a valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering

    • Active top-secret clearance

    Skills:

    • Possess excellent communication skills

    • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

    • Knowledge of key customers and ability to grow relationships at those customers in multiple levels of the organization

    • Ability to assess customer needs, provide clear, competitive quotations and overcome customer objections to win and grow the business

    • Demonstrate understanding of market trends, industry issues and knowledge of competitors

    • Ability to leverage support personnel to meet customer needs and work cross functionally in the organization to serve customers

    • Knowledge of Eaton electrical products and service capabilities

    • Ability to solution-sell to meet customer needs

    • Effective implementation of Eaton's internal sales process

    • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills

    • Time management, presentation, and planning skills

    • Ability to travel up to 25%

    The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of 138,750 - $203,500.

    Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
