    Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Surveyor at our Turquoise Ridge Vista operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking accurate measurements of underground and surface workings and maintaining accurate and secure records

    Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Chief Surveyor, the Underground Surveyor is responsible for the following:

    • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and leadership. Proactively identify and communicate hazards, participate in safety interactions, and maintain a strong safety culture within the team.
    • Ability to conduct various underground survey tasks, including traversing primary and secondary control points, marking up geological drill collars, and managing development as-builts, and other survey related tasks as requested. Ensure accurate and timely completion of these tasks.
    • Operate, adjust, and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, lasers, CMS scanners, and drone scanners. Perform equipment calibration and ensure all instruments are functioning correctly.
    • Use DESWIK and other relevant software to process survey data, generate triangulations, and create detailed plans. Manage survey data layers, update control databases, and distribute reports as required.
    • Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Operations, Geology, and other departments. Communicate daily and weekly priorities, progress updates, and any issues encountered. Participate in the development of Survey SOPs and ensure adherence to them.
    • Lead special survey projects, including planning, execution, and verification of results. Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and logistics.
    • Actively mentor and train junior survey technicians, ensuring they develop the necessary skills for progression. Provide leadership by demonstrating advanced survey techniques and problem-solving abilities.
    • Generate and review survey reports, EOW and EOM reconciliation data, and ensure accurate documentation of survey activities. Present findings and updates to relevant stakeholders.
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    • College Degree or Certificate in Surveying, or equivalent. preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of underground surveying experience, or relevant survey industry experience. Experience with Leica survey instruments, DESWIK, and other related software is highly preferred
    • Proficient in the use of survey equipment and software, including total stations, laser systems, CMS scanners, drone scanners, and DESWIK. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel preferred
    • Ability to work in challenging underground environments, including the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs required
    • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license required
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to interact effectively with various departments and present technical information clearly preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership in safety, project management, and team development. Willingness to train and mentor junior team members preferred
    • Ability to independently manage survey tasks, troubleshoot issues, and implement long-term solutions preferred
