    Job Summary

    Provides international tax and global mobility support in managing individuals who have cross border work and income tax and social security implications in partnership with global mobility, tax, HR, Finance, and other global partners and providers. This position encompasses tax planning, compliance, payroll and corporate tax partnering, intercompany billing, advisory and assignment support for team members up to and including senior executives across multiple business entities and countries.

    Job Responsibilities

    Oversees tax matters relating to the international assignee and frequent traveler population including senior level executives by partnering with the global countries/businesses and providing associated day-to-day income tax, social security, and compliance support.

    Understands the Company's tax control framework and identifies areas of potential opportunities through business partnering. Acts as the day-to-day "eyes and ears" of Global Mobility.

    Partners with Group Tax, Payroll, Legal, and broader HR teams, to align with a consistent approach to management of risk in connection with global mobility and the frequent traveler population.

    Partners with relevant businesses, actively manages review of frequent travelers to assess risk outside their home country, covering tax, social security, and immigration. Take corrective actions to manage compliance, including shadow payroll requirements as necessary. Specific responsibility for Appendix 4 (STBV) reporting in the UK, ensuring continuous improvement of processes to track and identify visitors.

    Works with external advisors, Payroll, and Employment Taxes team to respond to HMRC or other tax authority queries or tax audits.

    Experience of dealing with global tax authorities to ensure company compliance obligations are submitted timely and accurately and effectively managing enquiries/audits as they arise.

    Partners with external vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of service. Manage relationship with global mobility tax advisors in managing compliance risks across tax and social security and associated immigration focusing on payrolls and shadow payrolls globally. Ensure hypothetical tax calculations, individual tax returns, tax equalizations calculations, and tax notices are prepared accurately and managed timely.

    Ongoing development and refinement of standard processes and associated documents to ensure consistent and standardized delivery of services, with reduction of manual intervention required

    Ensure benefits provided to the assignees are administered and tracked correctly and all items are correctly captured for tax & social security in both home and host countries. Manage complex aspects of expatriate payrolls, including ongoing application of Appendix 5 and Appendix 7B in the UK. Ensure timely management of Appendix 6, 7A, and 7B arrangements for international assignees to the UK.

    Support the Global Mobility team in identifying and managing compliance implications for international assignee population who receive share-based incentives working with key stakeholders in the US and UK.

    External Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in Global tax or mobility/relocation experience with a large multi-national company or global accounting firm OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in Global tax or mobility/relocation experience with a large multi-national company or global accounting firm.

    • Understanding of tax, immigration, and social security implications of people moving between countries, and associated requirements of managing compliance.

    • Experience with expatriate payroll, tax equalization etc. and applying key concepts in a practical environment (e.g., Appendix 7B, 5 in the UK).

    • Awareness of HR, Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and intercompany processes and intercompany systems in a global complex organization.

    • Ability to communicate tax issues clearly and concisely (in both written and verbal forms) to a variety of individuals and stakeholders with differing levels of tax and global mobility awareness.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in global tax or mobility/relocation with a large multi-national company or global accounting firm, OR High School/GED and at least six years of experience in global tax or mobility/relocation with a large multi-national company or global accounting firm.

    • Management Requirements: Used to working collaboratively with other members of the immediate team accepting and directing work in a complex matrix structure.

    • Travel: Occasional business travel may be required (within country and out of country).

    • Professional Tax qualification with US and UK expatriate tax experience.

    • Previous experience of tax and social security management globally

    • To be a recognized specialist within HR, Group Tax, Payroll, and the business, in matters of employment tax, social security, compliance, expat payroll, global mobility, etc.

    • Awareness of transfer pricing issues and permanent establishment risk in connection with travelers.

    • Practical experience of working with third-party professional advisers in multiple countries.

    • Some non-English language skills an advantage but not essential
