    Global Financial Solutions:

    MUFG's Global Financials Solutions ("GFS") is a structuring group that delivers customized solutions to address CFOs' and Treasurers' unique corporate objectives and financial issues. The team is comprised of professionals with various backgrounds and expertise (e.g., corporate finance, tax, accounting, etc.) to design and deliver bespoke value-added solutions to MUFG's clients.

    Job Summary:

    The Business Strategy Associate plays a critical role in supporting the group's strategic and operational goals. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business initiatives, preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, and portfolio reports, and providing insights that drive decision-making. The role involves significant interaction with internal stakeholders, helping to identify, analyze, and solve business-related issues or transaction-specific challenges.

    Responsibilities & Deliverables:

    1. Business Initiative Support:

    • Assist in developing and executing strategic business initiatives that align with the bank's long-term goals.

    • Conduct market research and analysis to provide insights that inform strategic direction and decision-making.

    2. Project Support and Execution:

    • Support project planning and execution for new product development, market expansions, and other growth initiatives.

    • Coordinate project activities, monitor timelines, and ensure project milestones are met within budget and scope.

    3. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    • Prepare, review, and analyze internal financial statements, management reports, budgets, and portfolio performance reports.

    • Support the forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

    4. Stakeholder Interaction and Problem Solving:

    • Work closely with internal stakeholders across various departments, including finance, risk, compliance, and operations, to address and resolve business challenges or transaction-specific issues.

    • Participate in cross-functional project teams to improve processes, address bottlenecks, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

    5. Data Management and Analysis:

    • Gather and analyze data from multiple sources to provide insights and assist with decision-making.

    • Create and maintain reports to monitor key performance indicators and track the progress of strategic initiatives.

    6. Process Improvement and Efficiency:

    • Identify areas for operational improvement and recommend initiatives to enhance efficiency or streamline processes.

    • Work with internal teams to implement best practices and new methodologies for improved business outcomes.

    Skills & Experience:

    • An undergraduate degree - required

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in business strategy, finance, consulting, or a related field, ideally within the banking or financial services industry.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree (MS or MBA)

    • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and data analysis.

    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various internal stakeholders

    • Demonstrated command of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

    • Strong analytical abilities and ability to learn

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

    • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.

    Compensation and Total Rewards

    The typical base pay range for this role is between $130K - $160K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
