    SALARY: Based upon the approved Governing Board Salary Schedule

    WORK YEAR: Full Time - 184 Days

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    To assist with the identification of students who qualify for gifted services and for providing gifted education instruction and assessments to the district's students identified as gifted in accordance with the state's Operating Standards for Identifying and Serving Gifted Students (Ohio Administrative Code 3301-51-15). To collaborate with gifted service providers in grades 3-12 to design,plan, deliver (push-in), and evaluate lessons for gifted learners.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Ohio Department of Education teaching license as Gifted Intervention Specialist or gifted endorsement.
    • Successful teaching experience preferred, particularly in the area of gifted education.
    • Exemplary knowledge of pedagogical best practices and curriculum
    • Proven ability to model a positive image in dress, behavior, language, and attitude.
    • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to foster collaborative efforts and willingness/ability to work as a team member.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • History of good job attendance.
    • Must pass required criminal background checks and be free from communicable disease.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
