Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for labor duties related to the assembly and packaging of copper tube products. The manufacturing process involves converting scrap copper into tubes of various sizes, incorporating additional processes such as insulation and fittings. Specific candidates will work in the Extrusion Press department.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Linesets area to cut, foam, and coil copper tubes, then pack them into boxes with smaller coils to create lineset kits.

• Perform various tasks in the Stores department, including receiving, putting away materials, and distributing materials to the floor. Some computer work and heavy lifting are required.

• Operate the Extrusion Press, heat copper blocks, extrude tubes, straighten tubes for quality checks, and prepare tubes for further processing. Heavy lifting is required.

• Work in the White Zone to draw copper into different sizes and lengths, operate various machines, and transport tubes using an overhead crane.

• Perform tasks in the Copper Zone, including packing, sorting, bundling tubes, and preparing finished copper products for shipment. Heavy lifting is required.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and perform physical tasks such as bending and squatting.

• At least 6 months of experience in heavy machine operation or a similar role.

• Experience working in labor-intensive environments such as roofing, construction, tree planting, landscaping, or heavy industrial settings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, assembly, and general labor.

• Familiarity with fast-paced work environments and the use of hand tools.

Work Environment

The manufacturing environment involves melting, pouring, and forming copper. The facility is very hot in the summer, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C, though personal air conditioners are provided for most stations. The culture is hardworking, with many long-term employees and new hires seeking full-time jobs. Team sizes range from 2 to 5, requiring strong teamwork skills. Steel-toed boots are required, and uniforms are provided. Shifts include straight afternoons (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and straight nights (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM).

The pay range for this position is $21.71 - $22.71
