Gen. Maintenance I-BMNTI

Have to have a high school diploma or GED andaminimum of 3 years' experience as Maintenance Tech or related experience and some formal training in such areas as; electrical, electronics, pneumatics, or hydraulics are beneficial. While not required, an associate's degree or vocational technical degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
• Dismantles devices to gain access and remove defective parts
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirement
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts
• Starts devices to test their performance
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts
• Initiates purchase order of parts and machines. Repairs electronic equipment
• Uses sound troubleshooting techniques to determine "root cause" solutions.
• Documents repair actions on a daily basis.
• Performs all other tasks as necessary to maintain plant equipment and property.
