    Collins Aerospace is looking for a talented First Article Inspection SME to work onsite at our Cedar Rapids, IA location. As the FAI SME you will troubleshoot and address issues with First Article Inspection (FAI) software. You will be responsible for continuously reviewing FAI quality strategy, practice, and procedure to ensure all requirements are met. As well as assist with First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) creation, review and maintenance. This role is crucial for ensuring that the FAI process is efficient, accurate, and compliant with all necessary standards and requirements.

    What You Will Do:

    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to DISCUS and Net-Inspect while working with vendors and DT to address and rectify technical problems.

    • Develop and deliver training sessions and material related to FAI, DISCUS and Net-Inspect.

    • Act as an AS9102 resource for best practices, process improvement and complex problem solving.

    • Monitor and improve FAI practices and procedures to align with current industry requirements and best practices while continuously evaluating and updating FAI quality strategies and procedures.

    • Assist in the creation, review and maintenance of FAIR packages.

    • Certify FAIR packages in xClass , JCL2 certification required to be obtained and held.

    • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of FAI, DISCUS and Net-Inspect.

    • Support CORE initiatives through participation and implementation.

    • Some travel may be required

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

    • Detail Oriented

    • Proficient at reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    • Knowledge of DISCUS and/or Net-Inspect

    • Knowledge of SAP

    The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
