  • Waste Connections of Canada is currently seeking an experienced Internal IT Support Technician to provide technical support to our Western Divisions. The successful candidate will be based in Saskatoon and will be responsible for delivering timely and effective technical support services to our internal customers.

    Position Summary

    The Service Desk Support Technician should possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and telephone etiquette. The Service Desk Support Technician will be responsible for offering support to all associates and systems in the company. The chosen candidate will have above average ability to interpret, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide direct customer service and technical support to users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person, sometimes in very stressful situations.

    • Must be able to interface with individuals and professionals at all levels of the organization including Executives.

    • Must have good organizational skills and be able to work independently.

    • Provide expert technical support for IOS and Android devices

    • Provide expert technical support for an environment that also includes Microsoft Windows, Terminal Services, Exchange and Office, and various Desktop editions.

    • Ensure system security in compliance with customer policy including virus protection.

    • Implement and maintain networks across the are of responsibility.

    • Deploy Network Cameras and NVR's.

    • Run network cables where required.

    Requirements

    • Demonstrated ability to configure and install PCs, network printing devices, peripherals and software, including physical attachment of equipment to network

    • Experience with installation and maintenance of peripheral equipment such as printers, modems, scanners, etc.

    • Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

    • Experience with Ubiquity and Unify technology.

    • Experience with mobile devices (Apple IOS, Android, etc.)

    • Familiarity and expertise in business applications such as Microsoft Office 365, and citrix

    • Utilize tools sets such as SmartDeploy, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, etc.

    • Maintain the skill set required to do the job.

    • Must be motivated and a self-starter.

    • Must be able to think outside the box and research new ideas and solutions.

    • Maintain an awareness of trends within the technology industry, researching and testing to determine how they could be implemented within the organization.

    • Operate Audio/Visual equipment such as Video Teleconferencing devices, projectors, and any presentation hardware.
