  • Job Title: Field Crane Technician

    Job Description

    The Field Crane Technician is responsible for meeting all service-related needs of the offsite customer in the most timely, cost-effective, and safe manner possible. The technician will communicate cooperatively with the Service Manager, parts and/or service coordinator, the customer, lead/Charge Hand, and/or a Warranty Administrator. The role includes completing a variety of paperwork supported by work orders, warranties, and safety-related forms if necessary. Essential duties include providing estimated labor times, following up on jobs, ensuring that parts are ordered and on hand, and recommending additional repair opportunities.

    The Successful Candidate Must Have:

    • Minimum (2) years of crane related Mechanic or Millwright experience

    PP- Crane related training either on the job or at factory. Basic training at a minimum. AWP & Fall Protection required

    • Exceptional trouble shooting skills

    • Valid driver's license supported by clean Driver's Abstract

    • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blue prints and engineered drawings and apply to work

    being performed

    • Ability to Inspect / repair Terex, Potain, Liebherr and other brands of self-erect cranes and tower

    Work Environment

    The Field Crane Technician reports to the Charge Hand and works closely with the Cranes Service and Operations Managers. The technician can expect to work independently or with other technicians or apprentices in various locations including branches, holding yards, and customer sites. The technician may be dispatched directly from home to the customer site. Operations range within 300 km, with most jobs located in Calgary. Occasional travel to locations such as Saskatoon may be required.
